Shammi Kapoor started his career with a film named Jeewan Jyoti in 1953 but got recognition and fame from the Nasir Hussain’s movies Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Dil Deke Dekho.
Shammi was a delight to watch on big screens and due to his charm, amazing energy and incredible dance moves that he choreographed himself made him famous with the name of India’s Elvis Presley.
He gave many blockbusters in 60s as well as 70s but after that due to his obesity filmmakers afraid to give him lead roles especially romantic hero roles so he did numerous movies as supporting artist.
Shammi Kapoor did films in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi and Russian and also, he did films with many renowned actresses of South Indian film industry.
In late 90s and 2000s he did supporting roles and special appearances in movies and his last movie was Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar in which his grand-nephew Ranbir Kapoor was in main lead.
